What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners about how their site is used.
Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies".
This policy explains which cookies we use on scim.ninja, what purpose each serves, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers our broader data processing practices.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the SCIM.ninja platform to function. They do not require your consent under PECR because they are necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
They include cookies used for security purposes, to maintain your authenticated session while you are signed in, and to remember your cookie consent decision.
These cookies cannot be disabled without preventing you from signing in or using the core features of the platform.
Analytics cookies
We use an analytics service to understand how visitors navigate the site and app — for example, which pages are most visited, where users drop off, and whether new features are being used. This information is used solely to improve SCIM.ninja; it is never shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Our analytics provider uses cookies and local storage to identify returning visitors and record session activity. IP addresses are anonymised and the data is not used for cross-site advertising.
These cookies are only enabled when you choose Accept all cookies via the banner shown on your first visit.
Performance cookies
We use performance cookies to support our live chat feature. These cookies store small pieces of state needed for the widget to work correctly — such as whether the chat is available, current queue and waiting-time details, content-delivery preferences, language settings, and whether you have already seen and responded to a GDPR consent prompt within the widget.
These cookies are set only when you visit a page that loads the live chat widget. They expire within a short period (typically 1–2 days) and do not track you across other websites or contribute to advertising profiles.
Because these cookies are not strictly necessary for the core platform, they require your consent under PECR. They are only enabled when you choose Accept all cookies via the banner shown on your first visit.
Your consent
When you first visit scim.ninja, a banner is shown that asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. No analytics or performance cookies are placed until you make a choice.
- If you accept, our analytics service will begin collecting usage data and the live chat widget will be able to set performance cookies for the purposes described above.
- If you reject, only strictly necessary cookies will be placed. No analytics or performance cookies will be set.
Your choice is remembered for 1 year. You can change it at any time — see section 06 below.
Our legal basis for placing analytics and performance cookies is your consent, as required by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
